So...

When I start to tell a story I normally start it with “So…” And I wasn’t aware of it until I did an internship in New York. When my manager would have to call a client from Missouri for a meeting he would get himself all set up with plenty to do during the meeting. He said we tend to talk slow and drag out words and start everything thing with ‘”So…’”. So I became aware of this habit so thought why not embrace it. Each of my blogs are like a story I would tell a friend so I would only seemed fitting I started it with “So…”.
Okay SO here goes…
My name is Jessica and I’m a fat girl. This blog will be about my struggle with my inner fat girl as I try to be a fit girl. I have struggled with my weight for a few years and this blog is a glimpse into my daily battles with myself, fitness, and food.
Bear with me through this process, as I will have slip ups and typos but I never claimed to be a fitness professional or a writer.

So... Thank You Katie!

A fellow Bearcat’s story is sooo inspiring!
I have been getting discouraged lately and feeling disappointed in myself. I feel like I take one step forward to only take two steps back. I will lose weight and then gain it back. Then I saw Katie’s photos and her blog.

Wow talk about transformation!

She didn’t give up and look at her now!

So inspiring!

Katie you are remarkable!

So... Where does your inspiration come from?

Inspiration

Inspiration can come from strange places. In this case it comes from a little place. A Little boy named Brayden.

Brayden was was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease at birth. I met him through his parents being friends with my fiancĂ©. “B”, as my fiancĂ© calls him, is such a joy to be around. This kid is freaking awesome… there are no words to describe. This little boy despite being sick has the best personality I have ever met!

It has been a long few years for him of being sick and in and out of the hospital. There have been many tests and attempts at finding a match from family and friends, but a match was not found.

Last night they received a call that there may be a donor.  He will get a kidney transplant today! It is a 6-10 hour surgery. Please pray for B today, his parents, the doctors, and the family grieving, and the healing for Brayden.

Brayden’s strength is so inspiring. Despite being sick he is the strongest and sweetest kid. So giving and kind hearted. If Brayden can stay positive and endure all of this, what can you handle today?
Look for inspiration everyday! You are lucky to have today!

So… Tonight was tough!

So… Tonight was tough!
I had a crazy schedule at work and didn’t eat lunch. I know horrible for my metabolism. I know bad bad!
I met my fiance at SAMs club to get some things for the float trip. Oh was that a bad idea. Talk about torture! Mozzarella sticks, chips, candy, ice cream, pizzas… and CHEESE! CHEESE!
Oh Cheese I miss you and love you! I was looking at the cheese and thinking it’s not that bad. Trying to rationalize it. Then is cheese a carb popped in my head with a Regina George voice. Lol Yes it is!

We weren’t too bad. Mostly protein bars, fruit, meat and trying something new veggie sticks. He even had these amazing heaven in your mouth brownies on the list and we didn’t get them. YAY
But word of caution SAMs club wrong place for someone on a diet who hasn’t eaten in the last few hours.

So…not any huge changes...

So…not any huge changes.
So, not any huge changes on the scale.  But I do have a positive update anyway. I have noticed I have gotten stronger. Don’t get me wrong the workouts still kick my butt. Seriously I thought I was going to throw up and pass out last night. But when I went to the lake I am able to walk up all the stairs easily. These stairs are something else! When we unloaded the car I carried 3,  12 packs of soda (not mine) and a 1.5 gallon jug of Bleach all at the same time up all those stairs and went back for more loads.

Going to the grocery store has gotten a lot easier being able to carry all the bags up in one trip.

On the way home from the lake we stopped at the grocery store to get my fiancĂ© beer (again not mine) for our float trip this weekend. He discovered Kraftig at the Lake, thanks to my sister, and he hasn’t found it in Kansas City yet. www.kraftig.com/ So he wanted me to bring him some back.
I walked in with my wallet and phone and went back to the cooler. Grabbed one 30 pack with one hand and my phone and wallet on the other and grabbed it. I took them up to the counter. The guy looked around confused. He asked me if I carried those up by myself. I said yes. He said without a buggy. WOW you can tell when you are closer to St Louis than Kansas City. Yea I didn’t need a cart. He chitchatted and then said please let me get you a buggy. I said I’m good and easily picked the 2, 30 packs up and carried them to the car. He said whoa I am going to remember you and not mess with you. At work this week I picked up a 60 pound shipment. I really don’t think I was able to carry more than 40 before.

So even though I don’t see a huge loss on the scale I am seeing a big difference in my strength and endurance.

So... Disastrous Zip Codes

I have watched every Sex and The City episode… a few times…I know sad.  One episode Miranda goes to Weight Watchers and they talk about the Weight Watchers meeting right next to a Krispy Kreme. Well I have that beat. Not only do I pass a Lamar’s donuts, I pass tons of other places with deliciously evil food on the way to and home from my workout. I googled the zip code of the gym with the key word food. I knew there was tons of places to eat by my gym but I had no idea how many. 73! Yes 73! Buffets, fast food, restaurants…   Are you serious!? How does one town need so many food places! You could eat out at a different restaurant every day for two and a half months. On the way to work on the way home from work on my way to my workout and home from my workout I am bombarded with temptation. Hmm… That makes me wonder how many are by my work. OMG 62. I knew we had a lot of options to eat lunch but my god! That is 135. 135 places that could potentially be more appealing than my Tupperware meals.  I guess I better step my Tupperware meals up to compete with all this temptation.
